Ladies' Day and First Shot Program

ladies

The ladies' shoot was a great success. Most had never shot before so our instructors and range officers guided them through the safe handling of pistol, rifle, shotgun, and archery...and afterwards a number of them decided to give our pistol range a go as well. Our special thanks to Vic, Sarah, and Lou and of course to all the others who made it all possible.

Like the Ladies' Day, our First Shot introductory shoots are held on Saturday mornings. The program is primarily intended for those new to the sport or new to firearms self defense, and changes according to who is attending.

Safety and familiarity with gun handling is uppermost. If you don't have a firearm of your own, we will have some on hand for you to try. With the current ammunition shortage we are doing a lot more with .22 pistols and rifles, but the fundamentals always remain the same:

Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction.

Treat all weapons as if they are loaded.

Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

Know your target and what is behind it.

Ladies' Day and First Shot events are scheduled as the need arises, so keep an eye on your range notification emails and on the schedule page. These shoots are open to the public, but pre-registration is required.
